Drosera capensis experiences

Duc Nguyen

Hello everyone,

I have had my Drosera capensis for several months now and kept it in a miniature terrarium in my kitchen. I noticed that the tips of the plant leaves were turning black so I was concerned that maybe it was getting too strong sunlight and it was getting burnt so I moved the terrarium into my fishroom under a flourescent light. Then within a months time, the plant just dwindled away and turned black. I figured it was dead but as of this morning, I've noticed two offshoots with a number of leaves coming out of it. I've kept Drosera before but have never seen this happen before. Did the plant go into shock from the changes in conditions? Maybe it went into dormancy?

Sorry for the long story but I wanted to see if any of you have experienced this?

Looking forward to the responses and thank you for reading my post.

Best regards,

-duc nguyen.
