New Venus Fly Trap. Newbie Questions.

I got a Venus Fly Trap over the weekend and am new to growing these plants. When I was a child my mom tried to grow these with me, but they always died. Now that I'm an adult I know we were growing them all wrong.

Did I do this right? It came in a small lot full of moss. I kept it in the pot and put it in a tubberwear container and filled with distilled water about 1/3 way up the pot. There is also a humidifier next to it that blows over my indoor garden. The room is kept pretty humid.

It receives a few hours of dabbled sunlight during the day and is with my other plants under a grow light for a few hours from 5pm-8pm.

Any advice or suggestions? I'd love to grow this thing for a long time. It already caught a bug!

RE: New Venus Fly Trap. Newbie Questions.

You need to acclimate it to the outdoors, full Sun. These are not indoor plants. Once night temps get to 40 and stay around 40 you will need to put it either in a cool basement, unheated garage or your fridge for the winter.
