buying gemmae

| Hi everyone!
I'm looking to buy some pygmy drosera gemmae, but am having trouble finding a supplier that will send to Australia.
Can anyone recommend a supplier; I'm not fussy about what species, just want lots of the little buggers- and cheap.
I live in WA so they grow well here, but not fast enough for me :)
Cheers!

Hi Sara The reason they will not ship to Australia is because of the strict laws they have against importing plant material. Even if they would ship to you there's no guarantee you would receive them. In fact you probably won't because they will get destroyed by your customs dept. I personally have hundreds of D. roseana gemmae right now but can't take the chance of any being incinerated. I've been planting them up @ 25 per pot to keep them from going to waste. I'll probably sell them on ebay come spring if I don't trade them with friends and acquaintances. Good luck with your search. |

| Ironically, pygmy sundews are native to Australia. You should be able to get them from other hobbyists, somewhat locally. Where is WA? Is that Western Australia? If you need help in contacting fellow Australian hobbyists, I know of several and you're welcome to send me a private message or Email. Jim |

| Triffid Park is an Aussie firm and they have lots of drosera (pygmies too.) (link: http://triffidpark.com.au/htm_pages/collectors_carnivorous_plants.htm ) |
