I know the feeling! Some of mine had traps 1 1/2" wide and red inside but it IS time for dormancy. Mine are now in the fridge for the winter and the Sarrs are in the attic. I hope they survive....

this is mostly common in Vfts. during the summers, typical vfts send straight tall leaves and bigger traps. before going dormant, around fall, they make rossetted leaves closer to the ground. the reason why they make deeper colored traps is because of temperature and lighting. fall still has nice sunlight but the temps are a bit chilly.

during the summers, when flytraps send their leaves tall, the traps are usually pinkish. coloration also has to do with genetics if it's a differente varriety besides the "common" vft. :P
