Hello! Since Nepenthes are a tropical plant they don't require dormancy. They may slow down in growth, but they will not go dormant. So you can enjoy their beauty all year!

They're essentially equatorial, so they should have 11-13 hours of light per day and relatively constant temps, 70-80 F.

Thanks, also do they ever need fertilizing???

A lot of people use orchid fertilizer. I never have... or at least haven't thus far. The rule of thump for most Neps is warm temps, airy media mix, ~12 hour photoperiod, and good drainage.

I would feed it bugs. spider or flies that make it into your home will find their way into your plant! Never fertilize the soil. It will kill your plant. For more info check out www.cobra plant.com

I don't fertilize my neps, people that do only foliar feed the neps. I don't see the point of that since it gets what it need by itself. Most of the prey my neps catches are flies, ants, crickets, & mosquitoes. Enough fertilizer for my neps.
