Drosophyllum roots

So I just got my precious dewy pine and was going to place it in a different pot with a fast-draining mix of peat, sand and perlite, but what I've read online and in books is giving me pause. If I'm interpreting this info correctly, the roots are so delicate that the slightest disturbance can kill the plant. I think one source even states that you should sprout seedlings in a container big enough for an adult plant and leave them there for their entire lives. Is this right? Is my plant stuck forever in the container and soil it arrived in?

The advice is correct... however... I was able to move a seedling twice, into larger containers, before killing it. You just have to move all of the contents, as one unit.
