I grow H. minor outside in full sun (they get from 4-5 hours of direct sun, partially to fully shaded rest of day). I use a drip system that reverse/osmosis water drips into the pots that sit on a screen that sits on a tray that has a tubing feed into a collection basin (this is a one gallon jug with two holes in the cap-one for the other end of the tubing, one for air to escape). As I refill the 1 gallon drip jug with fresh water; the collected drain off is used for other purposes. I flood each pot daily when I replenish the drip jugs.
My plants are out there all year long even when the weather dips into the 30s (occasionaly). At this moment my weather here in Santa Maria, CA is only 1 degree different than the weather in Philadelphia, PA with our low tonight of 40F 4 degrees lower than Philadelphia! Our humidity is much lower than Philadelphia. So I imagine you could grow Sun pitchers outside there until your lows drop below 40F for extended periods of time.
The plants need the full sun but also need the coolness. The aim of my drip system is to provide not just moisture but coolness to the roots.
If you can grow Darlingtonia then I would think that you should do quite well with Heliamphora.
