I have a nepenthes alata. It has been growing great for a year. When I first got it i transplanted it into a larger pot. I used 1 part sphagnam to one part perlite for a soil mix with a layer of pea rock on the bottom. I left the plant in its original mix and added my mix around it and underneth it. It is now its second winter in the same spot. The bottom leaves are dying and the stems are turning hard and brown. 1/3 of the plant is doing great. I dont know it this is because the plant is growing new shoots into my mix or what. The plant is watered with well water at room temp, the water is also very clean. I use the same water for my orchids. I also mist the plant 2 times a day. The plant also gets its food from fruit flies and nats. I am worried can I seperate the plant from its old soil mix. This may disturb the roots but I want to save the plant.
