WANTED: Raleigh 2011 Spring Swap - Food List

Ok - I don't think one of these list (Food) has been started yet.

I'm bringing:

paper products- plates, cups, napkins, forks & spoons, - enough for 75 people

a cooler with diet sodas & bottled water.

If you think the crowd going to be larger than 75, someone please let me know and I'll bring more paper products.

I'm planning on bringing enough paper products for 100 folks. My neighbor is bringing Baked Beans & Deviled Eggs. Chocolate Oreo Trifle sounds delicious!!!!!

Since it's Easter Weekend I doubt we'll get 100 gardeners but I've been wrong before! And since I am so close to the park I'll probably cook something and let the long distance folks bring the easy stuff. It will either be broccoli salad or pasta salad - something that won't spoil easily.

I'll bring cabbage salad and hot cross buns. My husband and son plan to come with me.

I will bring a big spinach/lettuce/arugela salad from my garden, and (I hope) a Trombone squash version of a sweet potato dessert.

I will bring pretzels and chips. I will TRY to make a yellow sheet cake with chocolate frosting. My hubby is working and I'm home with the 3 kids, one of whom is a mr. cranky pants this am . . .

Okay, it's an eclectic mix, but I literally only discovered that the plant swap was today at 9:20 am this morning. So I will be bringing a sheet cake with chocolate frosting and rainbow sprinkles (hand-sprinkled by my very own daughters.) I will also bring cantaloup, popcorn and potato chips. I will attempt to make homemade macaroni and cheese. I have the ingredients, but I've never done it before, so I'll try it and have the expert (my 7 year old) taste it, and if she deems it worthy, I'll bring that as well.

As for plants, I can bring some sage, but again since I only realized the swap was this morning, I don't have anything readily available.

Well it never fails. My husband rushed home so we could color Easter eggs. Now I cannot go to the swap. Great, I have 4 cantaloups to eat, as well as a huge sheet cake. Have a great time and perhaps I'll try again in the fall. Sigh.
