I am trying to find the true size at maturity for both Hoogendorn and Compacta holly. Is anyone growing both?
I just purchased two Hoogendorn hollies. I had planned on buying 2 Compacta hollies for a foundation planting but someone at the plant nursery suggested Hoogendorn instead.
I am second guessing myself as I need an evergreen that I can control at 4 x4 feet. I have several Compacta hollies in another area that have been planted about 3 months.
I was told the Hoogendorns would grow that tall too, but I now read online they will be only about 2.5 feet tall. The label on the pot stated 4 feet tall and 5 feet wide.
The Compacta and Hoogendorn are in 3 gallons pots and look almost identical.
I can still exchange them for the Compactas.
Thanks in advance.
