Bleeding hearts

| I planted two bleeding heart bare roots in the fall. I have not seen any foliage sprout as of yet. I am wondering if I should be seeing foliage yet or if its still too early since it is still technically winter. Any advice/input is appreciated. |

Way too early. BH's are like a watched pot never boils. You forget about them and suddenly they're not only up but fully in bloom. They bloom for quite a while and then they disappear before the harsh heat of summer, to reappear next spring. So..remember where you planted them by marking with a decorative stake. |

| We planted some bleeding heart roots on March 3rd. There was some stem attached...which has now died off. Should I be worried, or will some new stem probably grow? (My husband has had me watering it every few days. We did have a light frost the night we planted it...whoops!) |
