anyone growing damson plum in triad area

Does anyone have one growing on their land in the Triad Area?

I would be interested in your growing experiences.

I am looking into whether these will grow in this area and a source for stock.

Have the usual red clay soil.

Any thoughts or leads would be most appreciated.

Yes it is. Great for jam.

Here is a link that might be useful: General info on the Damson Plum

I don't know about the triad, but i do know they grow well in this area- near Raleigh. I'd think they'd be ok just bit further west.
