Newbie to ALL of it!

Hi all- nice to see such a collection of knowledgeable people on a topic I am sorely lacking in! I am in coastal Texas right now and am transfering to (coastal of course) NC. So, I'm new to everything and certainly an expected soil change. Any tips on getting started? What grows well vegetable wise in these areas? Can't wait to get started! Oh- and it will be May by the time we transfer. Thanks!

Welcome aboard!! Depending on what part of the Texas coast and what part of the NC coast you're talking about - you won't notice much difference except that you'll see more winter over here. It is still milder than inland but not as tropical as South Texas. May is a gorgeous month around here.

I can't wait to see real seasons! We have a month of yo-yo temperatures or two then summer- HOT summer the rest of the year! I can't wait....and to think my hubby was worried I'd be upset!
