| Having a hard time finding good info on the best time to plant leeks in 7b (Charlotte area). I have seeds, but I'd be interested in any experience with either seeds or transplants. I am concerned about the long time to harvest + hot summers here - maybe this should be a fall planting? Either spring or fall, I'd like to know when is a good time. |

| Plant seeds now. When starts appear (March-June) at garden shops, plant immediately - inch apart, not bunched. Hot summers here did not faze mine. Still harvesting from starts planted last June - it is February for Pete's sake and they do not know that their "season" is over. I will wait for them to go to seed later this summer so that the raised bed is filled with them exclusively. Nancy the nancedar |
