I checked out Bluestone Perennials & they don't have it.

MeadowBrook Nursery may be too far to expect my son & daughter in law to drive for a weed!!

I also called Cristy's near Concord. They don't have it now, but may in about a month.

So I think I'll give up!! I have some milkweed seeds "winter sown" here & if they come up I can send some back with them if they are in PA in June.

I live in Charlotte and my butterfly weed has not emerged from the ground yet. I have gotten it in the last 2 years at Kings nursery. There are other nurseries that also carry it, but they will have it closer to June, not now. There is a butterfly garden mail order place in NC called Niche Gardens. They have all sorts of plants to attract the bf's and hummers. You can sometimes find pots of it at the UNCC plant sale and Winghaven sale, as well as out to Daniel Stowe. Since I have increased the amout of milkweed and other plants, I have really begun to draw in the Monarchs!

I start mine under lights from seed. I've seen the seed packets offered at locally owned farm/garden shops as well as the big box stores (even Target had them).

I made the mistake of letting mine go to seed one year and spent alot of time picking the seedlings out of everywhere the next spring. It grows easily if direct sown.

I know this is late for Easter but I bought some yellow Tropical Milkweed (Asclepias curassavica) at Rountree Plantation Nursery today in Charlotte. Tropical Milkweed has always been a favorite for Monarchs in my yard. Rountree is a bit hard to find (located off Old Pineville Road between Tyvola & Woodlawn) but well worth the visit.

They have GORGEOUS geraniums!

I got some at Roundtree plantation and Dearness had a variety. I also ordered some from Niche gardens in Raleigh.
