My shade garden is turning sunny

First time post!! When I moved into my North Carolina house it had an extensive perennial garden in a wooded setting. In 3 years time the sun light has changed for the shaded garden areas and I have lost many plants. The woods will be developed soon with new homes and I'm afraid my shade garden will dye off. What can I plant that will take the place of all my astilbe that will soon fry up.?
Right now my hardy surviving plants are: peony, hydrangeas, Lenten rose, Some ferns and some endless roses which I planted last year.
I would love your suggestions
