Hi all,

Hope you don't mind a pitiful newbie LOL.

I was a member many years ago (back in the day of Spike)

My sister and I have just moved into a new place in Kannapolis (just north east of Charlotte) and we are cleaning out the untended bed in the front yard. I came upon this little bugger all over one end of the bed. I thought it was a weed at first but on closer examination I started to wonder if it was something I might want? The I picked a leaf and I'll be darned if it doesn't look like a fish. You know the shape of a little goldfish cracker. They are all alike. Clumps of these leaves on a single root and they are spreading . . . I have a scanned pic but can't find a way to post it here. Anyone have any idea what it is?

Hmmm, off the top of my head, I'm thinking sheep sorrel - which is definitely a weed, and spreads like crazy.

Nope not sheep sorrel but someone on Name that plant found it. It is 'mouse eared coreopsis' If you turn the leaf upside down the fish tail becomes the ears of a little mouse head LOL. Guess it is a keeper. Here's a link to see the leaf shape LOL
