Is this better? Sorry, couldn't resist putting in a large photo at the end.

Some pics from after the rain on Sunday. The Fringe tree has finally stood back up; it is so lovely.

Irislover, how did you get the clickable links? I don't see that option on my account?

Never mind, I just went to Photobucket and found out how to do it. ;) Yay!

Those are lovely pictures irislover. Do you know the names of the iris pictured? Is your fringetree fragrant? Those are one of my favorite small trees.

The link option is really nice. I use my brother's server for pictures and don't think I can do that.

To be honest, I only found out about the clickable images thing today when I was refreshing my memory about how to post pics. It is nice and fast for loading and others only have to take the time to open the ones that interest them.

As for the iris, all the ones pictured are the same. The buds are faintly blue, they open to a really pale lavendar, and then after a day, bleach out to pretty much all white. I have told this story before but I call them my McDonald's irises 'cause I nabbed them from the drive-through pavement of a McDs where I used to live. They were doing utility work and dug up a whole bed of them and tossed the corms everywhere. I put the Mom-mobile in park, jumped out, and picked up 6 that looked viable. These are some of the healthiest, most-quick to reproduce iris that I have grown. Hooray for free!

Iris, your photos are gorgeous! Magical light. I have to admit, being lazy, having a big monitor and lucky enough to have high speed, i like having the bigger (medium size) pix where i don't have to click to see them. Faster loading is nice, too. Next time i upload some i'll be very conscious of size.

I agree Tammy; in fact I wish there was the capacity for people to view the 3 MB files but that's just too much data. I remember having dial-up a year ago and waiting for ages for pictures on the Antiques Roses forum.

I agree about liking the bigger size, but if I was without RR, I'd be hating on the big pic files. It only seems to cause problems in these threads that are almost all pics. When there is a lot of dialog to read, you can be checking out what is written while the next pic is loading. In these great threads with all of these yummy plant pics, it can seem like torture waiting for each one to load.

The light was so peculiar that evening. I loved the steam rising up off the road in the background...my son thought the road was smoking!!!

Hang out around irislover_nc 'cause those babies are gonna need to be divided soon!

PS I am anxious for the peony pics to start rolling in; I think they are the next biggies in my garden!

Another picture of Devoniensis. The overall effect is creamy white, but sometimes it has shades of pink and sometimes shades of yellow.

Where do you get all your plants from? I'm sure you have mentioned this already, but I'll ask again :)

Mostly from seed, cutting and division. I'll buy one thing and then multiply it a bunch of times and plant it in several different places. Every year I have a no-profit nursery in my yard.
