Sure is sad that younger generations apparently don't like growing herbs. Why is this event not being scheduled on a Saturday when families and younger gardeners can participate? I think there is a disconnect between gardening groups and the general public. Most of these events seem to be geared toward the retired and elderly. What a shame I won't be able to support this event.

i wish i had seen this earlier. i could have went to the sale & lunched w/ my cousins who live there. our kids could have played at the park. twanzat i agree w/ you on the scheduling. i am 35 and this is my 2nd year having a garden,we moved to ourst home in 2006 but didnt plant anything. last year we did & one of my favorites was my sweet basil. we had fresh pesto which i used on sandwiches,pasta,chicken...just wonderful. this yr so far i also have rosemary & am starting some parsley.

Not retired or elderly, and I grow a lot of herbs... but I've always liked 'multi-use' plants. Why buy a plant that just has pretty flowers, when you can buy one that has the flowers, aromatic leaves, attracts bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds, makes cats go loopy, and makes a rather tasty tea?
