 o
hops?

Has anyone had luck growing hops down here? I planted two rhizomes this past weekend near a long stretch of picket fence. I am looking for a fast growing screen and maybe even some harvestable flowers as I am experimenting with home-brewing too!

Yep, have grown them and took them out when I saw how they could spread by underground rhizomes. Round up got rid of them pretty easily. Be wary when you are around the vines as they are rather hairy and almost razor like and you can end up with skin irritation if they rub up against your skin. I had the variety Golden Nugget.

You'll have no trouble growing it. Getting it to grow ONLY where you want it to may be the problem as nckvilledudes said. I thought it would be cool growing up the DH's ham radio tower but he thought otherwise. Now it (multiple it) has to go to some one else's garden. Any takers?
