Hello everyone

I moved potted plants outside last week

most are cactus that are burning up,I moved them

to up against the house but was wondering why

cactus would burn in the sun.

The yard has no shade at all.I planted two redbuds

a southern sugar maple two persimons and a sweet bay magnolia.

It can take while for houseplants to "harden off" for full strength sunshine. Plants that are slow growing handle it worse then fast growers. Even plants kept in windows have to adjust to sun shine. Last summer a lot of my aloe and cactus collection got burned, some of them still have scars on their leaves.

    Thank You John

It's hard after my stroke I don't remember these
things.I look at a plant and know what it is but
just don't always remember the same with basic gardening
    knowledge.
