We had a huge hail storm Sat. a week ago. All of my trilliums and anything else with big leaves were shredded...as if someone sliced them with a knife. Some of the hail was the golf ball size, so even plants under trees were damaged.

There was so much hail that some was still left in the early a.m. the next day! Thankfully, we got only a little rain last night. So sorry about your plants.

I have some shredded hostas I was thinking about taking to a swap later in April. Maybe people will want them out of sympathy???

Ralph that same storm tore my place up. How a hail stone can seek out the one bloom spike on the one plant that I was really waiting to see in bloom out of an acre and a half garden is beyond me.

On Sunday, driving over to Garner I was amazed to see snow drifts along Tryon Rd. The hail and sleet was blown up into drifts along the side of the road - in places it was over a foot deep.
