Advice before I plant my tree peony

I posted this in another thread, but then thought it might get lost in the wash, so I'm doing so again. I know it's bad form, and I'm sorry, but I'm anxious about my new babies.

I purchased three tree peonies from Whitman Farms and I received them in the mail today. After I purchased them, but before I received them, I started doing some reading and it turns out I should have planted them in fall. So now I'm nervous, thus the two posts. I apologize.

So, I have three plants. They were all shipped to me in containers. Two are at least three feet tall and one has a stunning flower on it!! The other is about two feet tall. All look very well leafed out and healthy.

So, any words of advice before I put these guys in the ground? I plan on using a mix of compost and peat moss and I just read that I should throw in a cup of bone meal in the hole. Also, I should dig a huge, big hole because they like the room.

Anything else I should know? Tidbits??

TIA!!
