Sally vs, Bambi, Round II

Round I was the various repellants sprayed on my hostas and daylilies. By and large Bambi and his cronies treated those like salad dressing. On to Round II...

I got some "deer netting" from Lowes and some U-Shaped pins to tack it to the ground. It is not really heavy and the mesh is about 3/4 inch square. It comes in rolls 100 feet long and 7 feet wide. I have draped this over a bunch of the daylilies and other plants. My concern is that Bambi could either chew through the plastic netting or grab it and yank it out of the ground.

Well, I went out the other morning and saw that a deer had chomped the top off a lily that had poked through the mesh. It did not, however, chew though the mesh, nor did it pull it out of the ground or off the plants. All the plants that I covered were unscathed.

So far, so good!

Sally
