Shielding greens, lettuces and non-flowering crops

Oh goodie. My son is replacing the windows in my other house. This contemporary has sliding windows so the screens are quite tall and I snagged them before their disposal to use on my greens beds.

Weeding greens beds is a daily chore and even though the bed is surrounded by 2x4 plexi panels, the lawn guys still blow a certain amount that flies higher than 2 feet.
Plus all the tree junk falling this time of year and acorns etc. falling in the cool weather garden.

These screens are going to be the perfect thing to keep most of that stuff out of the greens.
And, I hope the dark poly/nylon screening will shield a bit of the harsh sun and slow the bolting. The micro salad greens need protection from hard rains and I'm hoping the screen will reduce the soil splash up onto the leaves.

It may or may not but it's worth trying on this small scale because weeding and a great deal of washing harvested greens is tedious.
