Free Program re Water Conservation at the JC Ralston Arboretum Sa

This coming Saturday, April 5, from 10 am to 3pm there will be a series of FREE lectures and demonstrations focused on dealing with the drought during the spring Arbor Fest at the JC Raulston Arboretum in Raleigh. At 3pm there will be a tour of the arboretum focusing on drought tolerant plants. Details can be seen by going to the link below.

Tomorrow night (Thursday) at 7:30, Tony Avent from Plant Delights Nursery will be the featured speaker at the Arboretum. His topic is the "Wacky World of Aroids". The lecture is free to members and $5 for non-members. If you plan to come, come early because Tony's lectures are usually to a full house.

Two weeks from Thursday on the 17th, Dr. Paul Franz, a world famous Taxonomy professor at NCSU will speak. His talk is entitled "What's in a Name".

Be careful how much water you save, if the local utility doesn't sell enough water, they'll raise your rates to make up for the revenue shortfall. It happened in Charlotte, they not only raised the water rates 15% but the sewer rates by the same amount.
