You can't mate them together, but you just click on your prior post and add another comment to it. It just won't be at the top of the thread. No problem- just didn't want you to think the 2 would be linked in any way in anyone's mind after a few days. Bet your "clover like plants" with pink flowers are wood sorrel - an oxalis. They bloom off and on all summer.

and if that's the case then your soil's acidic, since they are a PH indicator plant. Which wouldn't be a stretch at all since most of the soils in these parts are naturally acidic.

Most of the "soil" in the area is natural compost...a mixture of leaves, acorns, pine needles, etc....the house is 107 years old so this stuff has been there a long time. Lots of growth in this area though. Wood sorrel..I'll look that up and see if that is what it is. I also have it prolific in the rear grass yard ( full open sun) and underneath a flowering dogwood in the back of the yard by the fence, also grassy but very limited sunlight. I also have plants that look exactly like it that have the same flowers except they are bright snow white in color. Lyle
