This holly experienced a little transplant shock, but seem sto be showing new growth. Would you return it and get another (50% warentee) or try to save this one?

Even though gardenias are evergreeen, they still do shed leaves--that may be all it is. I picked some yellowing leaves off my August Beauty gardenia yesterday. Too much sun isn't the issue--gardenias love sun (but not wind as much). Is your soil pH acidic? Mine isn't, so I have to remember to fertilize with an azalea fertilizer in the spring, and after first bloom. I also give it my leftover coffee once in a while (cold coffee, that is!). The bottom line is that if the shrub is budding out, it's probably just fine!
