SPRING GARDENING7 Spectacular and Practical Spring-Flowering Trees
Put on a beauteous show in the garden with a landscape tree awash in flowers — just do your homework first
Full StoryI planted my small twig of the flowering apricot, Prunus Mume in March of 2003. I planted it just to the outside of a curved walk to the front door. It has been lovely in bloom in Feb. Now, it is about 15' tall and filled with millions of apricots.
When I was deciding to plant it by the walk, I didn't even realize that it would produce apricots duh! So every day, a lot of the little green apricots drop on the walk, which is very dangerous. I guess it has got to go.
It also suckers a lot, but it is beautiful when in bloom.
