My copy of this book is the most well-worn in my collection. It's helped me solve the myriad planting
problems in my full-sun, part-sun, dappled-shade, full-shade, dry, wet, clay, loamy yard.

That is the one thing that I found the Southern Living Garden Book is missing. There are lists in the front of the book but they are not very complete. For example, there is a list of plants that grow well in a swamp but nothing on plants that grow well in clay.

It saves me from making bad choices ... I tend to try to force things I like to work where they simply won't.

Yeah, sometimes just because you can do something... and you know the rest. I am bad about trying to make things grow in less than optimal conditions but am growing out of that lately. Now I just have to gather up the ambition to move those things around lol.
