Herbarium

Good Day

I was wondering if any of you have

visited the Herbarium at UNC Chapel Hil.

If so what was your experience,I am planning

a trip.

    Man, I wish I lived closer to that area, they have so much good plant places to visit up there!

    Blueangel, the UNC Herbarium is more of a working herbarium rather than a museum, though open to the public. If you have a specific need of looking at the collections, it's best to call ahead. The curators, Dr. Alan Weakley and Carol Ann McCormick, are very helpful.

    For a more public facility, the NC Botanical Garden is a great place to go for their displays. Right now, it's in a disarray due to construction of their Soon to be Amazing new buildings, including a much bigger and accessible Herbarium.

    I have spoken with
    Carol McCormick this trip
    is for research I am doing.
    I was just wondering if anyone
    has used it for that reason
    and thier experience.I have
    some seven hundred specimens
    to date.

    Well I spent the day in the herbarium,
    had so much fun looking thru and recording
    data that I needed,also may be sending several
    of mine to them as they do not have them in there
    collection.
    WOW!
    just thought you all might like to know.
