Daniel Stowe Gardens Look AWFUL

Has anyone else visited and paid the atrocious $12/person to see the gardens and glasshouse that look weedy, unprofessioanlly designed and never watered/fertilized?

I had heard a massive exodus of garden staff left there in 2007 with the new executive director. The gardens do not look as good as at that time, for sure. The orchid conservatory looked good the first year and then that person left and it is in shambles, also individual orchid plants themselves look magnificent when in bloom.

Both Sarah Duke and J.C. Raulston gardens looked fresh and managed nicely. Although, the Raulston could stand for some proper mulching of beds and some trimming of overplanted borders.

Oh dear. I keep sending my membership money in but haven't been there since 2006.
