Hi I'm not sure about irises, I have some native ones.
I chose peonies that do well in the south - some are Festiva Maxima, Sarah Bernhardt, Kansas, Monsieur Jules Elie. I got my peonies from Gilbert Wild some years back and they had a collection of peonies that did well in the South.

I would second all squirrelspur's peony suggestions. I confess I don't keep track of the labels that well, but I bought a collection from Brecks when I moved here which included most of those mentioned, plus 'Bowl of Beauty' and a very common red whose name escapes me.

Reblooming Iris are plentiful around here, though I do not have any. They seem to bloom spring and very late fall (into November) I have not found any TBIris that did not do well in this climate. Mine are mostly evergreen, Dutch and Siberians also do well, though they bloom earlier than I am used to.

You havent filled it out. OK, not knowing your location, I can only tell you that all of the basic temperate zone Iris and Peonies work here where I am in zone 7 just outside Winston-Salem. I am digging Iris right now and can share. Just look for the sign in my front yard that says "FREE IRIS AND GARDEN TOUR". Here's the link to my trade list.
