I've been. It was okay, but I've been to nicer garden centers with more of a selection. There's one off 85 on the way to Atlanta.. in Commerce, Georgia, I think, that is awesome.

I'd have to say no, Parks is not worth a special trip. If you were in the area it'd probably be worth a look-see.

I went about 7 years ago, when I was first starting to garden in SC. I would agree with the sentiments of gnomey - if you are there already, fine, have a look in, but don't make a special trip. With the price of gas, and with it being interesting (they did do a good job of displaying what they offered for sale, including annuals and vegetables in trail plots) but not spectacular, save your pennies and time.

Cravens Pottery had a great garden area in Commerce GA but they are currently closed down.
Is that the place you were thinking of gnomey?

I make an annual visit to Park Seeds around the first week or two in January. Last year's seeds, which are usually still very viable, will be on sale at deep discounts. Plus almost everything else including perennials and some of the Wayside stock. Take along their catalogs that you received in the mail this year as they usually are out of them at the store and you will need them to sort out seed catalog numbers and varieties.

Also, I find their winter planted show gardens to be more interesting than the summer ones. Viewing and studying them may encourage many of you to take delve more deeply into sport of winter gardening in the Carolinas.

Thanks guys for the info.I would probobly do best to just go to some of these swaps I read about.That one in Greer is alot closer to Shelby than Greenwood would be.I only recently started gardening so I dont have much to offer,but I do so love it.

Oh no! Cravens is closed? That's a bummer. I loved that place but hadn't been in a while.
