I am just moving onto a half acre piece of land that has no trees & the house faces west. I would so appreciate advice re. fast growing shade trees that are not invasive to septic & dont have too many surface roots & not too messy....in other words, the perfect trees. Ive been looking at catalpa, autumn purple ash, maples, & an autumn & kwanzan cherry. I would love to have something edible & would also love to find an old fashioned (not dwarf) apple tree. the soil has a lot of hard clay!! all advice appreciated. thank you!!!! used to be flowerlady ga, but now NC. : )
