When to plan trooted cutting outside questions

I rooted a weigela cutting in April.

I used a one gallon pot and sterile potting mix.

I noticed new growth in July. In late July, I placed it outside on my front porch in a sheltered area.

It now has about 18 inches of new growth on several stems. The roots have spread throughout the one gallon pot but it is not root bound.

Can I plant it in the ground now or do I need to overwinter it indoors?

I usually do fall cuttings and plant in the spring so rooting during the summer is new to me.

I am in upstate SC. Thanks!
