I got the doodhi plant from someone who grows a lot of Asian veggies, close to Around the World Market. I got one doodhi out of it and the insects got a couple others. There is one growing right now, its about 8 inches long - should be ready in 3-4 days!
The okra didnt do too well - I think I planted them too close to each other.. Right now the okra are about gone - they have been reduced to just twigs, without leaves with a couple of pods at the top.

My parents always have trouble overwintering their limdi in the house. Any suggestions? They're also in Wake Cty so they have to bring it in, but it just seems to dry out and die.

I had actually left my limdi in the garage (which by the way one shouldnt do). It looked dead by the end of winter, but I left out in the sun in spring and it came back to life. But I know several people here in the triangle has successfully overwintered limdi by keeping it near a sunny window indoors through the winter. I think the key is to not water it too much or fertilize it when its indoors and but give it good light. It will lose a lot of leaves, but it will survive.
I had several baby plants coming up from the roots this summer. But I am afaid to remove them and repot them for fear of breaking or damaging the roots.
Patel Brothers had them on sale for $4.99 a few weeks ago.
I harvested my second dudhi today! And saw another little one growing on the vine!
