A lot of garden tours/events this weekend

The Garden Conservancy is having the open garden days in Raleigh this weekend. Great chance to tour private gardens.

Plant Delights is also having an open house.

Sunshine Lavender Farm is having a lavender planting clinic at the Hillsborough Farmers' Market.

We visited Denny Werner's gardens yesterday. He was really wonderful and posed for a photo for my blog! I didn't realize that his wife is also a horticulturist, but we didn't get to meet her yesterday.

I went to two others - the one across the street from the Hort dept building and the one on the south side by Cary (Lochmere). And then off to Plant Delights. Fun day.

I bought MORE salvias at PDN this weekend! I also picked up one of the Winkler's Gaillardias at PDN, by recommendation from Denny. The one I bought has purple petals instead of white like Denny's.

We didn't make it to the other gardens -- busy, busy weekend.
