Kerai, I have been growing this plant for several years. I believe that it is considered hardy only in zone 9 and above, so I would recommend that you bring it inside. It will stay evergreen in the house with a minimum of light and water. You can also cut it back and take cuttings for rooting. The cuttings will take several months to form a callus and may not show any roots until next spring, but will stay green in the meantime. A couple of years ago I left the original vine in the ground and covered it with a foot of leaves. It did come back slowly in late spring. Also, there is a variegated Pandora vine at the local arboretum which has come back for the past couple of years, but never blooms. Remember though, we have not had a "normal" winter for several years and when we do, a lot of us are going to lose all of those marginally hardy plants that we have been successfully overwintering. By the way, my plants will bloom profusely some years (looks like a pink and white Mandevilla) and not at all others. I still have not figured out this vine.

Thank you for the info. I would bring it inside; I don't have to cut it this year since I just bought a small one. Hope it would bloom next year! I understand exactly what you are saying; had been fooled a couple of times by this weather and lost a few plants. But we all live and learn :-)

I grow a relative of it known as Port St. John's Creeper. Similar leaves and great clusters of pink flowers in the fall. It has proven reliably hardy in my south Raliegh garden even though the books say otherwise. The only problem is that it takes all year to get big enough to bloom and that it blooms when everything else is dying from the frosts. Frosty nights only make its pink flowers redder.
