It is very important that the discussion remains down to earth and realistic. H1N1 is definitely a thread to all of us; and if not H1n1 then the next epidemic/pandemic that comes up. The world population is growing and the people are intermingling more end more; so no surprise that a 'loopback' kicks into action and that viruses pop up that will endanger humankind. It is important that new vaccines are created. My horror scenario is that a mexicanflu or swineflu virus could destroy the world's infrastructure, not unlike in Clemens Suter's novel 'Two Journeys'... I am not too worried about the quality of the vaccination though. People are more afraid of the vaccination now, than of the disease, which is a weird psycholgical phenomenon, like the fact that people are more afraid of flying aplane than driving a car - we all know more people are killed in cars, but we think we can control cars, not airoplanes.
