I'm not sure, but i don't think daphne- something's off for that. It reminds me of firebush, hamelia patens, actually, and i know they sell it since that's where i got mine, but i haven't seen a variegated version. If that's what it is, it isn't hardy here.

I think it's a daphne.

Still not sure! May be I'd keep it in the pot till Spring and see if it flowers and how they look!

The cleyra ID in Name That Plant was correct...it's one of the newer variegated types. A neat shrub.

I googled for images of Cleyera japonica 'Tricolor' and found a picture that matched the plant that I have. SO, I guess it is a Cleyera. Thanks to all of you for your input! Now I need to look for a Daphne :-)
