TB Irises,,,Oct. planting anyone done it?

| Hey,
I am planting about 40 TB irises this week. Has anyone in my zone (7A NC) done this?
If so, did you have to give them some type of covering for their first winter (pine needles, etc.)?
Also, do we expierence heaving here?

I don't think heaving is as much a problem to iris as having too much water and bad drainage.
I'd be more inclined to put pine boughs over them than pine needles so air circulates better but the boughs capture snow and frosts. |
