Anyone know a good weed ID site with photos

I have this pervasive weed that looks somewhat like a dandelion in leaf although not as coarse and more leaves in the clump. From the clump rises a stalk, slightly hairy, with a small cluster of yellow dandelion type flowers.

First I have to ID it and I'm doing that because I want to find out if the leaves are edible like dandelion leaves.

This site has been helpful for me.

Try an image search for Hieracium. Sounds like it could be one of them.

hosta, thanks but it wasn't that. This has a base cluster of leaves that look very close to dandelion leaves but the stalk or two that rise from the center have a top cluster of 3-4 tiny dandelion type and color flowers per stalk.

That almost sounds like a hawkweed to me, Dottie. I get it in my gardens. The leaves are more succulent and hairy that dandelion, but are the same shape & such and the flowers are like a loose cluster of small dandies on a stalk.

Have you ever tasted Dandelion leaves?? I would have to be very desperate for something green.

Actually, dandy leaves are great in a wilted salad first thing in spring. I don't think i'd like them any other way, though, since they are mighty strong.
