Great article, thanks for posting it. What are you growing now? Did you start from seed or with transplants?

So far I have six 4 x 8 foot beds containing a variety of leaf lettuces, beets, spinach, mizuna and a mesclun mix that includes arugula, kale, and various asian greens. One bed is mostly snow peas with about 10 fava bean plants. Another bed contains broccoli plants. Because of the hot fall weather, I planted the seed too late for the plants to mature in the fall, but I break off leaves here and there so that we have enough for salads almost every day now. I started the broccoli from seed in a container back in the summer, the rest were directly sown. Where the plants are too thick, I pot up the thinnings in small 4-cell packs and give them to family and neighbors to encourage them to winter garden
