Help with a tangerine tree

Hi All,

I am a lurker of this forums but now I need some help and wonder if you can share your knowledge with me.

I have this tangerine tree (I believe the name is "Daisy") in the ground for about 3 years now and it has not grown a bit, the leaves are yellow with no signs f improvement. I have tried many things and this is (I think) my last try to make it better, otherwise I am sad to say it will have to go to the trash...

I tested the soil about a year ago and the PH was neutral, and I added the nutrients as recommended. I have tried liquid and solid fertilizer (the ones that say "for citrus"), I tried organic matter, mulch... and no mulch but nothing seems to work. Does anyone has any idea why this tree looks so yellow? see pictures:

the soil looks very wet to me, does it stay like that always?

I believe not. I took the picture a few hours after the sprinklers system was on. I will keep an eye on it anyway..

Citrus trees like for their roots to dry out a bit before waterings, both inground and in containers. If the sprinkler system is soaking the ground everyday the roots may not have a chance to dry out and you could have some root rot happening.

Your tree is suffering from severe nitrogen deficiency. Add some more fertilizer.

That is the first thing that came to mind too.

Nitrogen deficiency! If that does not help, then I would look into what is causing an uptake problem, usually associated with soil issues.

Great!! Thanks All I will follow your advice and remove mulch and some soil and add fertilizer
