At least that's what's on the bag of orange my wife bought from walmart.... i'm guessing it's a variety of citrus grown in Texas, sure would like to know the actual or official name?

Is it a navel, i.e.does it have a little orange embedded in the base? If so, it probably is a Spanish Sugar Orange or Sugar Navel... Great fruit... if you find a seed, save it and plant it. Could also be a Dream Navel, developed in Florida as a sport of Washington Navel; it is also sometimes called Sugar Navel.

Its not a Navel. I bought a bag yesterday and wasnt impressed at all. Maybe the ones I bought were a little old or something. It was sweet but thats about all! Didnt even taste like a orange to me. It was very bland and sweet with no tart or kick at all. Actually it was the first time in a long time that I took a couple bites and threw a orange in the trash. I cant remember the last time I did that.

My take is that is more of a descriptor or a brand name than an actual varitial name.

Marketers in fruit and trees have this habit of hyping their products worse than used car salesmen. Or making up names. If it does not have a PLU# label beware.
