Young Orange tree not doing well

I planted my tree in mid-July and lately it seems to be deteriorating. Some of the leaves are yellowing, with the tips turning brown and white. There are also small black dots on many leaves. I really want this tree to make it, please let me know what to do.

grox, are you fertilizing your citrus? If so, with what? Can you post some more photos? One of the whole tree perhaps? That will help us a bit more to come up with a diagnosis. The little black dots could just be from a previous spraying, even by the retailer/grower, or could be a fungal issue (doubtful in your dry climate). More photos if you can.

Here's a link to more pictures on Imigur. I used 2 fertilizer pellets when I planted the tree, as directed by the nursery.
