Satsuma harvest in the Republic of Texas

Hi Y'all,

Quick story to share. I pilfered some satsumas from a 30' tall tree on the vacant lot behind me today. The lot was sold to a developer and the old house was torn down for new construction. All of the low hanging fruit was already picked by the day laborers so my tree saw proved its worth.

Hopefully the builder leaves the tree but it's very doubtful. They're inclined to maximize sq footage on these inner city lots and also raise the ground 2+ feet. Not sure if a tree that size could survive a move. Thoughts?

Anyway, these oranges are sweet, juicy, and low on seeds. I've got 1 Meyer lemon and 2 Republic of Texas orange trees growing on our small patio in containers. Haven't let them fruit yet but might go for it this year.

Regards,
SJ
