Don't have a lot of Meyer lemon experience, but you do want fruit, so you have to have flowers. I think it's perfectly normal for it to start blooming now. My indoor Satsuma is starting to bloom as well. They are probably responding to the slightly longer daylengths.

Small fruits will form and grow very slowly all spring and into summer. Your tree will probably drop a lot of smaller fruit in the process. This is normal. The ones that remain will probably start to ripen in late summer.

My Meyer have already had their main bloom. Actually about 3 weeks ago. They can have 2 or 3 blooms a year. Yours is doing just fine.

where in zone 9 are you that it cannot be outside?

dave I think that is a typo and meant strengthen.

Mrainy- you dont have to thin fruits until they set and meyers are very good about doing it on their own so I dont even bother with it.
