Hey all.First post.Have had an orange tree for 3 years now, and it finally bloomed!I just want to make sure I dont screw it up from here on in. Can you guys offer some tips as far as watering, fertilizing, or any additional ideas to care for the tree. Its about 7 feet tall and Ive pruned here and there but not recently.

Thanks in advance!

Well, I would look to the University of Florida for some guidance in your area, walkthsky. They have a very extensive web site and a great cooperative extension web site as well. Tons of info on home growers and citrus. Usually in general, you'll want to fertilize from about March to October - avoiding times where your temps might dip too low, and cause damage to new flush, which will occur if you fertilize. You'll want to water enough to keep the soil moist to about 18" - 24" deep, so that will vary depending upon the ambient temps as well as amount of rainfall. If you notice the leaves cupping/curling, that's a sign of water stress and time to water. It's actually how our commercial growers out here in dryer S. Calif. know to water their citrus groves. The blossoms will take of themselves, just watch for aphids, psyllids and thrips right now, and treat accordingly.

I'll add whitefly, caterpillars, and scale insects to Patty's list, as the season progresses. Other than that, no prolemo, lol!
